Squirrel in the attic?

Daytime running. A golf-ball chewed hole. Gray squirrels and flying squirrels are different entries. The look is free. We close the chew in metal.

Golf-ball chewed hole in weathered wood fascia above a gutter, empty
A typical golf-ball chew at the fascia. This is the hole we close.

Pictures on this page show typical openings. They are not photographs of a specific job.

What the free inspection is

What you notice

  • Scratching or rolling in daylight. Night is usually raccoon or rat.
  • A golf-ball hole with chewed wood at the fascia, gable vent, or ridge.
  • Leaf or insulation nests in the attic.
  • Gnawed wiring or PVC.
  • After-dark chatter and a much smaller gap can be flying squirrels. A daytime-only look misses them.
Gable vent screen with a chewed hole through the mesh, empty
A typical chewed vent screen. They keep a spare entrance.

How a job goes

Inspect

Count the chews. Day for gray. Dusk if it might be flying squirrels.

Remove

One-way or trap. Young stay unsealed.

Exclude

Metal over every chew. Mesh small enough for the squirrel we named.

Repair

Fascia, vent screen, or ridge. They do not chew the metal we put on.

That is typical for gray squirrels. We still come look.
