How We Started
Florida Trappers and Wildlife Rescue was founded in 2008 by Leo Cross, a Central Florida wildlife trapper who built the company the quiet way: one homeowner call, one attic, one honest job at a time. Leo learned nuisance wildlife work in Orange County and has spent years answering Space Coast and Orlando-metro calls for homeowners, businesses. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) partners when animals need help. Today the company remains a licensed Florida nuisance wildlife trapper serving Brevard and Orange County. Focused on humane removal, FWC-compliant relocation, maternity-season-safe bat exclusion, and steel exclusion that keeps the problem from coming back.
Meet Leo Cross
Leo Cross is the founder of Florida Trappers and Wildlife Rescue. An Orlando-area native who later worked from the Space Coast, he is known locally for practical attic and nuisance wildlife work and for showing up when rescue calls come in. Including FWC-related wildlife responses covered in local news. Customers often mention Leo by name in Google reviews for being calm, humane. Thorough. The work is still hands-on: inspect, remove the animals the legal way, seal the entry, and leave the property safer than we found it.
Florida Nuisance Wildlife License & Insurance
Florida Nuisance Wildlife Trapper Permit, issued under the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) nuisance wildlife program. Proof of license and current insurance certificate provided on request. Required documentation for most HOA boards, property managers, and homeowners insurance carriers before authorizing wildlife removal work.
Our Compliance Standard
We follow Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) rules on every job — same-county relocation for rabies vector species, maternity-season-safe bat exclusion, and species identification before removal of any potentially protected animal. See FWC's nuisance wildlife program →

FAQ
Who runs the company, and since when?
Leo Cross founded Florida Trappers and Wildlife Rescue in 2008. He learned nuisance wildlife work in Orange County and has spent the years since on Space Coast and Orlando-metro attics, businesses, and calls that come through FWC partners. The sequence is still inspect, remove the animal the legal way, and seal the entry.
What does the license cover?
It is a Florida nuisance wildlife trapper permit. Several species on this site cannot be trapped without it, and a bobcat cannot be trapped without the permit at all. Bats cannot be trapped. Proof of the permit and the insurance certificate is available on request.
How are rabies vector species handled?
Raccoons, foxes, and skunks can be released only in the county where they were caught, and only within 24 hours. Otherwise the legal options are to leave the animal or to euthanize it. Bats are not trapped. Taking one of those animals to another county is illegal.

James Schultz — Google review
“Today I found a raccoon wounded badly, he was probably hit by a car left with a broken leg and a severe hole on it its stomach. I called animal control and wildlife services, but sadly got no help…Until I called Florida trappers and wildlife rescue, they showed up within 10 to 15 minutes and captured the raccoon from a storm drain that he crawled into. God bless these two men that rescued this raccoon, they were so nice and extremely helpful, they ended up taking the raccoon to an animal hospital.”
