Bat Removal in Brevard & Orange County, FL
Need bat removal in Florida? Bats cannot be trapped or killed — the only legal method is one-way exclusion that lets them leave at night and blocks re-entry, scheduled outside maternity season.

Florida's bat maternity season runs April 15–August 15. During that window FWC prohibits exclusion statewide so flightless pups aren't sealed inside. We'll still inspect, map entries, and queue you for the first legal date.
Done correctly, exclusion plus sealing ends the colony problem — scare tactics and incomplete sealing do not.
Signs of a Bat Problem
- Guano piles under one gap — crumbly, shiny with insect fragments.
- Ammonia odor from guano in an attic or wall void.
- Squeaking or scratching at dusk as bats exit to feed.
- Grease staining around a gap ≤3/8 inch at fascia, soffit, or ridge.
- Bats exiting the same opening at sunset.
Our Bat Removal Process
- Dusk inspection to count active exits and confirm bats.
- Verify the calendar against April 15–August 15 before any exclusion.
- Install one-way devices on active entries (leave one open during transition).
- Monitor several nights, then seal the final opening.
- Bat-proof the structure; clean and sanitize guano when present.
Florida Law & Compliance
Florida law — not just our policy — prohibits bat exclusion from April 15 through August 15. Any company offering removal inside that window is breaking the law or misidentifying the animal. See FWC nuisance wildlife rules →
| Factor | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Number of entry points | More access points mean more exclusion material and labor time |
| Attic/roof accessibility | Steep, multi-story, or tile roofs require extra safety equipment |
| Presence of young/litter | Family removal takes extra time and a humane handling approach |
| Extent of damage | Insulation replacement, wiring repair referrals, and sanitation add scope |
| Recurring or unresolved activity | Prior incomplete exclusion elsewhere may require more extensive sealing |
Bat Removal FAQs
Can you remove bats from my attic right now?
Only outside April 15 through August 15. In that window the pups cannot fly, and a one-way door strands them in the attic. That exclusion is illegal statewide. During the season we inspect, map the gap they use at dusk, and set the valve for the first legal day. We do not trap bats. Trapping is not a legal method in Florida.
Are bats in the attic dangerous?
They are not looking for a fight. The risk is the droppings, and a bite nobody noticed. Guano can carry the fungus that causes histoplasmosis, and it stains ceilings. If a person or a pet touched a bat, call a doctor or a vet that day and tell us. We do not tell you to wait that out.
How do I know it's bats and not birds or rodents?
Watch one gap at dusk. Bats leave in a stream. Birds do not. The droppings crumble into a shiny powder with insect parts. Rodent pellets stay hard. Bird droppings are white and splattered. We name the animal on the house before anyone installs a one-way door.
What is bat exclusion and why can't you just trap them?
Exclusion is a one-way valve on the gap they already use. They leave to feed and cannot get back in. After the colony is out, that gap is closed in a material they cannot reopen. Killing or trapping bats is not the legal fix. Fog and poison do not close a tile gap, and the next colony uses the same hole.
