Fox Removal

Fox Control in Brevard & Orange County, FL

Fox den under a shed or deck? We remove the family humanely, then bury hardware cloth so the den site can't be reused.

Florida gray foxes climb — activity can show on fences and low roofs, not only at ground level. Most calls involve spring kits noisy under a structure.

A fox that is repeatedly bold in daylight or moves unsteadily may be a rabies concern — don't approach; call us to assess.

Signs of a Fox Problem

  • Fresh 6–10 inch den opening under a shed, deck, or brush pile.
  • Strong musky odor at the den.
  • Yipping from kits (often March–May).
  • Prey remains (feathers, bones) near the entrance.
  • Repeated daytime sightings of a normally shy animal.

Our Fox Control Process

  1. Confirm the den and estimate kits present.
  2. One-way exclude or trap without orphaning a nursing litter when possible.
  3. Relocate under Florida nuisance wildlife rules.
  4. Exclude the den with buried hardware cloth.
  5. Secure pet food and coops that attract foxes back.

Is a fox in my yard during the day always a problem?

A fox crossing the yard and leaving is normal. A den under the shed, daytime visits that repeat, or an animal that staggers or does not move off is the call. Foxes are a rabies vector species. The handling rule is the same family as raccoons: same-county release within 24 hours, or euthanasia.

Will you remove fox kits with the adult?

Yes. We plan the den, not one adult. Orphaned kits under a deck die in place and the smell is the next call. If the young cannot travel yet, we do not close the only exit.

How do I stop foxes from denning under my shed again?

After the den is empty we bury galvanized hardware cloth at least 12 inches around the shed, the deck, or the porch, and we tie it to the structure. A skirt that stops at the soil line is a suggestion. They dig under it.
