Coyote Removal

Coyote Control in Brevard & Orange County, FL

Coyotes near your neighborhood? We start with attractant removal and hazing — trapping alone rarely lasts if food and free-roaming pets remain.

Coyotes now show up across Brevard and Orange County near schools, ponds, and greenways. They are not a protected species in Florida, but city/county rules still limit firearms and many trap methods.

For HOAs and property managers we can assess corridors, educate residents, and document findings for the board — not just a single-yard trap set.

Signs of a Coyote Problem

  • Dog-like tracks in a straight, efficient line.
  • Howling or yipping at dusk/dawn.
  • Scat with fur, bone, and often seeds or fruit.
  • Missing small pets or poultry predation signs.
  • Daylight sightings near a den in spring pupping season.

Our Coyote Control Process

  1. Map attractants, travel corridors, and possible dens.
  2. Secure trash, pet food, and compost; adjust feeding habits.
  3. Coach residents on hazing to restore wariness of people.
  4. Live trap when an animal is bold, repeated, or threatening.
  5. Recommend fencing fixes that close yard access gaps.

Are coyotes a threat to kids or pets?

They usually avoid people. They will take a small pet that is outside alone, especially at dusk. Feeding, on purpose or through open trash, is what makes one bold enough to stand in a yard in daylight. Supervise pets and remove the food before anyone talks about a trap.

Will trapping one coyote solve the problem?

Not by itself. The territory fills again if the trash, the pet food, or the unfenced compost is still there. Any trapping we do is paired with an attractant plan. A single removal with the buffet left out is a temporary gap, not a fix.

Do you help HOAs with neighborhood coyote issues?

Yes. We walk the corridors, usually the pond edge or the greenbelt, and we will tell a board what residents are feeding and where the animals are traveling. A covenant cannot override state wildlife rules. The report is for the board, not a promise that one trap empties the neighborhood.
